Black Sea coast comprises the east border of Bulgaria. Its length is more than 200 km.
In the south part of Bulgaria an extensive mountain massif, called the Rhodopes, can be found. Practically the Rhodopes are divided into two parts (East and West), which have very different geological history.
Strandja looks like a big green spot on the map. It covers both Bulgarian and Turkish territory. The biggest part of the Bulgarian territory of the mountain forms the Strandja Wildlife Park.
If you take the main route from Sofia to Greece, it goes along river Struma. This river is famous as one of the best places for rafting in Bulgaria, but is equally famous among nature lovers with its beautiful surroundings and interesting natural habitats.
Three meandering rivers cut in deep in the Ęarst rocks, forming an system of canyons. All this system is called “Lomovete” The place is located south-east from the town of Ruse. About 15 km from this site is Danube River.
